A graduate of David Lipscomb University and The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, Thomas W. Nabors, DDS is a full-time practicing dentist in Nashville, TN. For the past 18 years, he has practiced general dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetics, oral health, and early intervention of periodontal disease.
Dr. Nabors’ excellence in dentistry and commitment to providing exceptional care has not gone unnoticed. In 1995 he won the Best of Show in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s Smile Gallery Competition. He followed that with his Accreditation in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and his completion of the prestigious Louisiana State University Cosmetic Continuum in 1999. Dr. Nabors is also a regular recipient of the ACE award for Continuing Education from the Tennessee Dental Association.
Although he has received much recognition for his ability to create a beautiful smile, Dr. Nabors’ passion for dentistry is not centered on esthetics, but rather on excelling in all areas of dentistry. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and is an adjunct clinical instructor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. He is also a Member of the Editorial Review Board for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a Qualified Member of the Crown Council. Dr. Nabors speaks frequently on the topics of periodontal infections, DNA testing, oral-systemic science, and cosmetic dentistry
A lifetime of research lead Dr. Nabors to co-found the first laboratory in the United States dedicated to salivary diagnostics, OralDNA Labs. This company quickly became a leader in developing DNA-PCR testing for the pathogens associated with periodontal disease. Although OralDNA was sold to Quest Diagnostics, the company still excels at providing dentists with a more accurate diagnosis, thus a more effective treatment of periodontal disease.
Dr. Nabors is the originator of “Modular Periodontal Therapy,” a breakthrough concept in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases. This revolutionary system is the culmination of his experience in the development of clinical testing systems, as well as the implementation of strategies for elevating the level of care and awareness in the fight against this disease.
